Kanpur

The moment anyone thinks of Kanpur, it only reminds one of polluted city, with garbage lying on roadside. It has very little to offer to a tourist. In earlier days it was called Manchester of East.

There are few places which one can visit in Kanpur and I have made an attempt to put some of the photographs on this page. JK temple is one such place. It is a modern temple built by Singhanias. Bithoor is a small town on banks of river Ganges. It has historical importance. One of the important figure in first war of independence (1857), Nana Saheb was associated with Bithoor. Dhruv-Tila, Brahmavart Ghat etc are some of the important spots in Bithoor.

And Kanpur has one of the most important centre of Engineering education in the country, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. It is a beautiful campus on GT road. And the photographs below are to show that Kanpur also has some scenic spots worth visiting.
